Session 2 An affordable high-resolution long-range lidar for autonomous-driving - Dr. Mathias Müller / Blickfeld Abstract Blickfeld has a solution for today's Lidar - cost vs. performance - bottleneck making use of our proprietary MEMS technology. We developed a high resolution Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor and the software for operating it. In this talk we will give a brief overview over Lidar technologies and a detailed introduction to the Blickfeld Lidar system. We discuss why and how it is able to meet requirements for automated driving applications and show results the system acchieves today. About the speaker Mathias Müller is an entrepreneur and researcher in optical sensor technology. He studied electrical engineering at TUM and physics at LMU Munich and obtained a PhD in optical metrology from TUM. After founding fos4X in 2010, a Munich based optical fiber sensor startup and nurturing it to a profitable company he joint the Blickfeld team as a cofounder and CEO.
Session 3 Functional Safety beyond ISO26262 for Neural Networks in Highly Automated Driving - Florian Bogenberger / Exida Abstract ISO26262 has a „classic“ development approach in mind ... but Neural Networks are different. How to get the best out of the two technologies? Functional Safety is a new challenge in this domain ... we are sure it can be done ... it just takes an open mind and creative new ideas. The presentation shows some new approaches we have tried ... and how ISO26262 and Neural Networks get closer. About the speaker Florian Bogenberger studied Electrical Engineering at Technical University Munich, joined Motorola at 1993, changed to Elektrobit at 2008, Managing Safety Consultant at exida.com since 2015. He focused on Functional Safety since 1996 with primary focus on leading edge technology. Florian has developed several safety concepts for safety μC and OS (ASIL-D) as well as various automotive applications including automated driving.
